Our focus in the BMW R 1300 R project was on precise 3D modeling and product design that respects the DNA of the BMW Motorrad brand, but also reflects the evolution of the modern roadster. The main task was to simplify the form – to rid the design of unnecessary elements in favor of functionality, performance and a personal riding experience. The priority was also to offer customers a motorcycle that combines the power of the iconic boxer engine with a compact and aggressive silhouette. We wanted the resulting machine to feel confident, dynamic, while maintaining the ergonomics and technical purity that riders expect from BMW. Our work contributed to the BMW R 1300 R feeling modern, muscular and confident – ​​with an emphasis on every detail that makes sense.

Fairing - Design Cleanup
Designing the fairing shapes, we focused on purity of line and proportion. We stripped the bike of all that was superfluous – leaving only what served function, emotion and movement. The result is a commanding, muscular silhouette that communicates power at first glance.

Display holders
The ergonomic arrangement of the elements was designed with an emphasis on intuitiveness and confidence in every driving mode. The holders were designed to provide reliable visual control of the displayed parameters, regardless of speed or terrain.

Headlight trim
We designed the headlight cover as a visual anchor for the entire design – a technical element with an iconic shape that combines function with identity. The sharp lines and modern lighting interface highlight the technological sophistication of the motorcycle.

Seat fairings
We have integrated the seat covers (rider and passenger) into the lines of the motorcycle to support its lightweight and clean look. The minimalist finish enhances the impression of compactness while ensuring comfort and safety in every situation.

Suction protection
We designed the covers in the areas under the engine with an emphasis on visual dynamics and technical purity. Their shape underlines the engine's performance while continuing the compact lines of the lower part of the machine. Every bend here has its own reason - both aesthetic and functional.

Wheel covers
All details for the wheel covers and the front fender were designed in accordance with the overall concept of the machine. Their materials, shape and placement take into account sporty ergonomics, confidence in lean angles and comfort during longer rides. Unobtrusive, but thought out to the last detail.

Project management
Project manager from our company is responsible for communication with the development team from the customer's side. This position is essential for the success of our participation in the project, but also for the success of the entire project at the customer's. The person in this position is responsible for creating conceptual designs, has an overview of all development activities, perfectly controls the follow-ups and actively participates in the management of all activities up to the serial production of the given product.
CAD design
Seasoned professionals in the field of production methods, whether it is plastic moldings, bent parts, pressed sheets, castings from various types of alloys or carbon composites. Our employees in this position were tasked with designing technical solutions based on the customer's assignment with regard to functionality, manufacturability, assembly and economy. We first materialize the designs digitally in the CATIA V5 software, then the designed components are manufactured according to the designed production methods.
Documentation
Part of the assignment for us was to participate in the complete documentation of the components we designed. We also actively participated in the creation of production processes both at the customer and at the customer's suppliers.
